White Elephant Beach Children Outdoor Play Park, spanning 3800 square meters, is situated in Jinghong City, the capital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. Meanwhile, the city’s name “Jinghong City” carries a beautiful meaning in the Dai language, "the city of dawn," The customized outdoor park is part of a local water eco-tourism resource development project, centered around the water ecological restoration area and its design takes full advantage of the site's natural conditions to protect the environment while providing a fun and engaging space for local children. Additionally, this outdoor playground incorporates local endemic species, such as peacocks and Asian elephants, as well as elements of Dai culture into the whole design of the outdoor play park. Among them, the mascots of Jinghong City, Asian Elephant Jingjing, and Peacock Honghong, are used as the park's IP characters, bringing joy to the children as they play and grow.
White Elephant Beach Children Outdoor Playground is based on the theme of “White Sand Secret Adventure,” embarking on a story of making friends with elephants and peacocks and exploring together. This enchanting story begins with children stumbling upon a mysterious white beach where they encounter a group of Asian elephants playing in the sand. Jingjing, the elephant, warmly invites the children to explore the rainforest and search for treasure. Deep in the rainforest, the fairy bird peacock Honghong guides the children to the sky, offering a breathtaking view of the secret white sand environment. Through their many adventures and trials, the children come to understand that the beautiful Xishuangbanna is a shared home for humans and small animals alike and that harmonious coexistence is the key to truly appreciating the invaluable gifts of nature.
The outdoor play park features two main themed areas: the White Elephant Sand Play Area and the Fairy Bird Flying Area, each offering immersive play experiences with a total of 16 types of playground equipment.
The centerpiece of this area is a duo of large and small cartoon elephants, standing at 10 meters and 5 meters respectively. These structures are interconnected by climbing nets of varying heights and angles, incorporating various play elements such as tunnels, jumps, climbing surfaces, and a distinctive white S-slide. The elephants’ perforated plates allow natural light and ventilation, creating an enchanting play space with light and shadow effects.
In this area, children can also enjoy rotating rings, big swings, and zip lines to build courage. Sand play equipment like sand screens, cranes, spoons, and dredging machines enhance their manipulative skills. Additional equipment, such as self-electric bicycles and desert oases, helps develop balance, courage, and intelligence, promoting overall physical coordination.
The Fairy Bird Flying Playground, inspired by the peacock, offers an immersive experience. The main feature is an elegant green peacock with a detailed design reflecting Dai cultural elements, such as diamond patterns and vibrant colors. The peacock’s blue-green feathers and yellow crown symbolize luck, happiness, and health. At night, the illuminated peacock becomes a striking landscape feature.
This area includes long slides, climbing nets, and a unique cloud trampoline. The cloud trampoline, resembling a green island, allows children to bounce and play as if on a somersault cloud. It offers various activities like bed jumping, sliding, and castle play, appealing to both kids and adults.
White Elephant Beach Children Outdoor Play Park provides a blend of fun, education, and cultural immersion so that children can enjoy the barefoot experience on the sand, swing on large ropes, and explore various play equipment. Besides, parents can also relax nearby, creating a space for family bonding and relaxation amidst the playful environment.
