Located at the heart of One Satrio — a dynamic lifestyle destination in Jakarta’s central business district — this compact playscape transforms everyday moments into opportunities for joyful discovery and meaningful engagement. Designed for children aged 2–6 years, the space balances active play, sensory exploration, and social connection, all within an elevated urban context.
Designed with Purpose and Play Value
Inspired by the rhythms of urban life, this playscape brings together a diverse mix of play experiences within a thoughtfully organized footprint. A rich combination of climbing structures, crawling tunnels, slides, balance elements, and interactive panels encourages children to explore movement, challenge coordination, and build confidence at their own pace.
One of the family-friendly highlights is a series of integrated musical play elements — including colourful xylophone panels and rhythmic sound features — that invite open-ended interaction and creative expression. These sensory features enrich the play experience, fostering curiosity and cooperation among young visitors.
Materiality with Durability and Character
At the core of the design is a commitment to material quality. Sturdy FRP posts with refined wood-inspired finishes provide visual warmth while ensuring long-term performance in an outdoor environment. Complemented by compact laminate, galvanized steel, and resilient PE components, the materials strike a balance between architectural presence, safety, and ease of maintenance.
An Inclusive Playscape for Families
Set within a lush courtyard adjacent to retail, dining, and gathering spaces, the playscape enhances the everyday experience of both residents and visitors. Its open layout and clear sightlines make it welcoming for families, while the carefully scaled elements ensure that children of varying abilities can engage, explore, and thrive.
By introducing a curated play destination into the One Satrio community, this project extends beyond equipment — it creates a moment of delight, social connection, and active play that supports early childhood development in an urban setting.
