The Grand Canal Cultural Exploration Park in Cangzhou revolves around the theme of canal culture, tapping into historical and cultural resources, and exploring the integration of canal culture, human landscapes, and cultural tourism. It aims to revive the thousand-year-old cultural heritage and showcase the symbiotic relationship between Cangzhou's citizens and the canal. The park layout mimics the meandering form of the Cangzhou section of the canal, linking six areas—"Stacked Stages," "Watercraft Wonders," "Canal Warehouse," "Canal City Center," "Elegance and Wisdom," and "Martial Arts Arena"—with winding water flows. By extracting distinctive canal culture elements, the park creates a unique canal-themed cultural exploration park, allowing children to experience the rich historical and cultural heritage of Cangzhou while playing.
This area showcases the legendary tales of the canal, where the prosperity of the canal provided a stage for the Wuqiao acrobats. The playground slide is designed based on the classic acrobatic formation of stacking people, creating an intriguing entrance. The "Acrobatic Study Card" features hollowed-out acrobatic shapes, and children must mimic these shapes to pass through the wall. The "Sky-Piercing Trumpet" is an interactive device inspired by Wuqiao acrobatics, allowing children to experience the magic of sound transmission.
Here, the backdrop is the flowing canal around the city and the bustling ships. The large rudder ship is adorned with traditional Chinese dragon patterns, with yellow and brown as the primary colors, reflecting the retro charm of the canal city. The dragon head at the bow of the ship exudes grandeur, while the high mast connects to a slide that leads into a sandpit, sparking children's desire for adventure and exploration. The deck, with its varying heights and interconnected spaces, provides numerous challenges and exploration opportunities. Inside the cabin, the ship connects to a sandy play area equipped with various rope net facilities, offering ample opportunities for physical exercise.
This area showcases the water engineering wisdom of the canal builders. The "Great Bend" is an elevated water flow pan, demonstrating the water engineering technique of using three bends to counteract one dam. Children can place paper boats and observe their journey. The water play area features various water engineering facilities, including water fetchers, water gates, dry fountains, and spray systems.
Here, the canal's grain transport culture is depicted, reflecting the process of "boiling sea water to produce salt." The sand play area simulates salt with sand, recreating the salt transport scene, allowing children to experience the fun of digging, transporting, and drying sand. The cotton-shaped swings are designed with elements of river cotton, adding a playful touch and promoting sensory integration development in children.
This area is enriched with the culture of "The Book of Songs" along the canal. The "Flip Card Wall" features images and knowledge of plants and animals from "The Book of Songs," allowing children to flip cards for educational interaction. The seesaws, rocking toys, and rainbow trampolines add to the fun, providing both learning and playful interaction.
This area incorporates the martial arts culture along the canal. The "Crazy Stick Group" is inspired by the various angles of the Qing County stick fighting techniques, designed as an adventure climbing facility. Plum blossom stakes, balance beams, and tightropes showcase balance training in Qing County martial arts. The wooden dummy is for strength practice, allowing visitors to experience the joy of martial arts training.
